A couple of years ago, when I was desperately trying to find a job, I applied to over 300 positions. For each application, I had to manually craft a personalized cover letter – reading job descriptions carefully, analyzing requirements, and thinking about how my experiences could fit each role.

The process was exhausting. Spending 30 minutes to 2 hours on each cover letter meant that job hunting became a full-time job itself. Yet I knew I couldn't skip them. Some HR professionals use cover letters to eliminate applicants, while others read them carefully to decide if candidates are the best fit.
